17-year-old Southport stabbing suspect named as Axel Rudakubana

“It's pretty exceptional to name defendants who are under the age of 18. But clearly, this alleged crime is exceptional.”

The reporting order which prevents the identification of under-18s in court cases has been lifted for the Southport stabbing suspect, Axel Rudakubana, due to “exceptional” circumstances, says The Times’s news reporter Tom Witherow.
