Some of them look quite cool, some just look really disfigured and scarey 
I think ive spotted them on a few buildings too, and like the old churches, wouldnt like to be hanging around in the dark there tho!!

WHETHER ITS TRUE OR NOT, NO IDEA...
...BUT I REMEMBER ONE STORY/ MYTH... THEY USED TO PLACE GARGOYLES TO GUARD OR WARD OF EVIL SPIRITS ........AND WHEN ITS A FULL MOON ON CERTAIN DAYS THE GARGOYLES WOULD COME TO LIFE
...........MOST THE TIME THEY WOULD CAUSE HAVOC OR DO MISCHIEVOUS THINGS AND THEN TURN BACK TO STONE BEFORE THE NIGHT WAS OVER.......
WHEN EVER I WALK PAST OLD CHURCHES OR CERTAIN BUILDINGS, I ALWAYS LOOK OUT FOR GARGOYLES.
THE NEW/LATEST TYPES ARE A BIT LAME, BUT THE OLD VICTORIAN ONES HAVE MORE DETAILS CARVED INTO THEM...
