Brief history of Sikh battles


Anglo-Sikh War (1848-49) Sikh empire ripped apart by British!

Anglo-Sikh War (1845-1846) Punjab ripped in half by British!!

Battle of Ferozeshah (1845) British v Sikh army!

Battle of Chillianwala (Gujrat) 1849 British v Sikh army!

Battle of Sobraon, (1846) British v Sikh army! 8,000 dead sikhs!

Battle of Aliwal (1846) British v Sikh army! 3,000 dead sikhs!

Battle of Gujrat 1849 The Punjab was annexed to the East India Company's territories and Duleep Singh was deposed.

Kharak Singh (son of Ranjeet singh, creator sikh empire) dethroned and imprisoned 8th October 1839 and replaced by his son Prince Nau Nihal Singh, Kharak Singh died from slow poisoning on 5 November 1840!

Duleep Singh, GCSI (1838 – 1893) Son of Ranjit singh, last heir to the sikh empire converts to Christianity abandons sikh nation migrates to England!

During the Mutiny of 1857 Hindus were rising against British Raj colonism and Sikhs were working for the British

Then came Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 (orders of Colonel Reginald Dyer)
