In this episode of India Upfront Rahul Shivashankar will be discussing Udaipur man beheaded for supporting ex- BJP leader Nupur Sharma on social media post. A shopkeeper was murdered in broad daylight in Udaipur on Tuesday, sparking tensions in the city. The shopkeeper, named Kanhaiya Lal, was murdered by two men who chopped his head off and later recorded a video admitting to killing the man over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma. The police arrested the two accused in Bheem area of Rajsamand district on Tuesday night. The accused were caught while they were trying to flee.
"They are terrorists! They should be dealt with under terror law. This is nothing but an act of terror. A fast track court should take up the issue and they must be convicted ASAP with forensic evidence" said Tehseen Poonawalla.
"Anyone who is perceived to have abused Allah and his messenger will sooner or later meet the fate of Kamlesh Tiwari. It may take a week or a month or a decade, but it will happen", says Anand Ranganathan.
"Why should Mr Gehlot resign? He took immediate action and the culprits have been arrested. He didn't allow them to hide or run away" says Lt Cdr Gokul.
"Law & order in Rajasthan has gone down the tube, has taken a flying leap out of the window. But there's no accountability" says Sanju Verma.
