The Medieval Courts of Equity.
THE COURT OF CHANCERY. The first court set up by the Lord Chancellor to hear complainants concerning denials of justice or unfair common law decisions. The Chancellor would decide the issue fairly and without bias.
THE COURT OF REQUESTS. Granted remedies to poor complainants denied a remedy at common law. It dealt with less serious cases.
THE COURT OF APPEAL IN CHANCERY.
The last court to emerge, was an appeal court, hearing appeals from decisions of vice-chancellors and the Master of the Rolls.
