The Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chhapaak’ movie has failed to gain viewers’ support on its first day of screening across the nation. As per reports, the movie has been able to bag only Rs. 4.77 crore on its first day as against its speculated high box office collection.

Expressing her frustration on the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress, a Twitter user lashed out at Deepika Padukone for downgrading the cause of the movie ‘Chhapaak’. “Sad that due to poor PR strategy, voice of acid attack victim, Laxmi Agarwal, didn’t reach people. The movie which was aimed at a social awakening has been reduced to a subject of mockery & will be remembered as a PR gimmick rather than a movie with social msg #DeepikaPRBackfires” wrote Aishwarya Mudgil, a Twitter user seemingly angry on Deepika Padukone for her misadventure.

It seems that ‘Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior’ has become the ultimate beneficiary of Deepika Padukone’s JNU misadventure. It could also be seen as a caution for Bollywood stars to think twice before stepping ahead for any cause.
