Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja‘s wedding was the biggest one of this year. From the whos who of B-town in attendance and with several functions being held over three days, the marriage was a treat to witness. However, while everyone is talking about it still, looks like a few members of the Sikh community are not so happy with what took place during the wedding ceremony. Apparently, their religious sentiments were hurt after the couple violated a Sikh tradition. Shocking, isn’t it?
According to a report in Mid-day, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have landed themselves in a new controversy after hurting religious sentiments of a few Sikh people. For those of you who don’t know, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Sikh ceremony on May 8. However, some former office bearers of the Shoromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have reportedly accused the current SGPC members of not removing Anand’s kalgi (brooch) from his turban during the ceremony. According to Sikh tradition, in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib, the kalgi has to be removed during the marriage riuals. But after the couple and the SGPC staffers forgot to take it off, the former office bearers have brought this to the notice of the Akal Takht. They want strict action to be taken against the SGPC members who officiated the Anand Karaj ceremony for Sonam and Anand
