A 53-year-old white British man has been arrested after a vehicle drove into a crowd during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade, Merseyside Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were dispatched to Water Street shortly after 6pm on Monday following reports of the incident. The vehicle came to a stop at the scene, where the suspect was taken into custody.
Downing Street has been briefed, with both the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary receiving updates on the situation, according to the PA news agency.
